Ya I'd do it now and again, with Tim Murphy in the gym we're always doing it!lol
But ya its good alright, a few solid positions there that I seen on a sbg training vid, one invented by our very own JK if memory serves!

Nah, don't bother with it unless it's someone similar in size to me. Damoose on here has a very good rubber guard.

Rubber guard is very very very very low percentage for me. But I think it's cool and I'm going to keep at it until it comes very very very low percentage.

Not me! He threw sand in my eyes and while I was blinded, triangle choked me! You don't have any videos of our division do ya Valmont? I'm down to 58KG now, so doubt we'll meet again!

    :P

No Mark is a good grappler, he kicked my arse enough times when we rolled up in Belfast.

I wanted to post about this a while ago, I'm a relative newb to the sport, (about 6/7 months) so I thought it might be 'frowned upon' to try this sort of craic without nailing the basics of open/closed/passing guard first. Skipping ahead of myself as it were. My flexibility is quite good, so don't think that would be a huge prob more as dunkmania says, I wouldn't fancy popping my knees.

Presumably everyone else here learns it from the books/dvds etc?

I was well proud of myself there a while back, having invented a new move from rubber guard. Course when I got around to reading a bit more of Bravo's book I found the same move right there.

I use Eddie's rubber guard, and particularly half guard stuff quite a bit. The half guard material I'd def recommend for all, it doesn't require the flexibility that rubber guard does.

That's what medicinal marijuana is for! :D

To be fair, its not the rubber guard that caused the ligament rupture afaik.

Similar to the triangle, by making an angle with your hips you can minimalise the strain on your knees.

Agree with Tim on the Eddie Bravo stuff, the progressions are very good, especially the half guard stuff.

Any links to the half guard stuff?

Nope, but this is a very good half-guard instructional: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-6822004334951860548

I love rubber guard!and the rest of Eddie Bravo's techniques for that matter. Its mainly due to my flexible knee and my love for unorthodox moves.I have all of his books and recently "acquired" his Rubber guard DVD instructional off the internet:D

I got Eddies Bravos "Mastering the Rubber Guard" book last week, it arrived Friday. It was a very busy weekend so I'm only about 30 pages in and so far the results are.... myself and all my my circle of friends have decided we are all gonna start smoking marajuana. Its a conspiracy man!!!

I havent looked through the rest of the book yet, bar flicking through the stretching section and a few of the half guard techniques. Already i'm thinking the book is well worth the €20 odd i paid for it.
