PS3 is completely hack free and will probably be for the foresable future. It has been designed with the latest security features similar to 360 but without the flawed DVD drive.
Its been on the market 18 months and hasn't been hacked yet.

In short, your HK PS3 will be stuck in the PS2, DVD, BD region it was bought in.

Many blu-rays are region free any way. The ones that aren't are much cheaper to buy on-line anyway. Bit of a pain for renting though

The majority of Blu Ray movies are region free.

You can check the list here

    http://bluray.liesinc.net/

or the blu ray's available at www.movietyme.com usually tell you if it's region free or not. But don't trust the list 100%, there could be some errors in it.

All blu rays from Fox are region locked. Warner Bros are usually region free. Check on Amazon or Movietyme before you buy.

Just to add, I've a HK ps3 aswell, and I've bought a good few blu rays from movietyme that worked perfectly (the only problem is their shipping takes ages). I've also got a few in town that worked fine, just be sure to check the box for region codes, some will show the symbols for all three regions, some will say region free, others just don't mention the region at all. I think any region protected one will show just that one region, but look carefully the symbol is kinda small.
