    Hello,
After hours of debugging, I decided to seek some help here...

    3 years ago, I purchased a barebone (Trigem Kloss KL-I915A), http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/trigem,959.html.
Great machine, fits very well in the living room. Have been using it as a PVR for my NTL digital.
My sister recently slept in the living room and she turned off the machine. This machine has been running nearly everyday with only a few reboot for the past 3 years.
I couldn't turn it on anymore. It's not even boothing. With just the power cord plugged in, and without pushing any putton on the front panel, all the LED are flashing. Pushing power button or reset have no effect.
Looking a bit closer (opening the box), I can see that the Fans are "trying" to start. By this I mean they start and immediately stop then restart. It's like they are powered off as soon as they are on.

My first guess was the PSU. I got a spare one, plugged it and got the same result.
I then removed every component in the case, leaving only the CPU. Same thing. I then removed the CPU, same thing.
Next, I took out the motherboard from the case (symptom looks like a short circuit to me) and tried again. Same thing.
I get the same thing with or without the CPU so I guess the CPU is ok even though I am not 100% sure.

Is there anything else I could try? Right now, I suppose that the PSU is sending the power, but the motherboard immediately "commands" the PSU to turn it off (PS-ON on the 24 pin mATX, signal sent from the motherboard to the PSU meaning "everthing is ok" should be 0 but it's not).
If I short this signal to ground, could I make more damage?

If the mobo is dead, I have no chance to get a replacement as the kloss is not made anymore. Any idea where I could find a mATX socket 775 motherboard (9.6" x 7.5")supporting P4 HT (630) and PC3200 memory?

    Thanks,
    Yann

My first impression from your problem description would be that its a faulty mother board I'm afraid.

If the machine beeps, take note of the series of beeps then search for that beep code on the manufacturers website.

Did she shut it down or just flip a power switch?

Thanks for the links, I think I should be able to find a motherboard replacement. My only issue would be the header going to the front panel, I will need to figure out which signals carry the power and reset button. Not sure if this is standard so I will have to check.

Azezil, I wish I had beeps, but I don't unfortunately. This is why I think it is the motherboard.
My sister just turned off the PC (safely!) through XP.
