As much stuff as I can read on the Civilising Process for one, and for the second I'm going to cover stuff on the transition from rural to urban societies. I doubt I'll have the time to do anything else so I'll just have to hope they come up. I could probably write a pass essay about America and the stuff we covered in the last lecture or two off the top of my head anyway.

there are many part to the civilising process.. are you just going to focus on topic three where he spent a considerable amount of time on the civilising process and table manners? i'm going to focus on that, but not sure what else to go with..

I'm going to use stuff from his own book on Elias 'Norbert Elias an introduction'. I have some other readings too, I think I got them from the photocopy section in the library, it's all on the reading list anyway.

He wants us to write about stuff we've read ourselves so I'm not going to stick too much to the lecture notes, might just take a quick read through them and that'll be it.
