BSG back to form. Really good episode. Loved the way the scenes with the Prez were intermixed with the Basestar action. The clock made it feel like an episode of 24. :D Diana will make a reappearance and can see the final 5 who know the way to Earth. Finally we're getting somewhere and not a Baltar in sight. Very good episode. No resurection ship made things interesting with the skin-job deaths.

    9/10

Thought it was a good episode. Would like more free time to re-watch it. So much is happening.

How many episodes are there this season? Its the last one so I am assuming more than 12? Because otherwise we are half way through...

    Very good ep IMHO.

I thought I heard Leoben say to Starduck as they were nearing the remains of the Cylon fleet: "If you can hear that, then you're one of us"? No one seemed to react to that. Is she one of them or what ?

I thought the moment when El Prez saw her deceased ma was quite moving.

We haven't seen much of Adama recently.

My prediction is that (not really a spoiler, just my 'magination)
Gaeta will loose his leg and become the embittered leader of the anti-Starduck faction.

I thought it was something like only cylons and very few special people can hear it.

Definately an improvement. Glad to see the story move on a bit tho I'm, still not convinced about all the religious stuff, its a bit superficial for my taste.

    Kara: "I can hear it"
Leoben: "The un-struck music vibrates in all of us. If you can hear it... Kara is one of the few"

That is what was said. So yeah i guess it means Cylons and the "few" can hear it, i wonder if Anders could hear it.

Yeah was a good one all right, we're getting into the swing of things now! Next week or at least the week after should be very good. Can't wait till they bring back Diana she's going reap havoc. But how are they going to bring her back without a resurrection ship? ... it might mean we get to see a good ole battle soon.

They are also bringing a bunch of Cylons back to the fleet, I wonder how that is going to go down with Adama not to mention Sigh etc. Also Kara essentially offered an alliance between the colonies and the Clyons... this is going to be GOOD

A+ for Anders and the scenes on the baseship.

Uhmm, how did you get the impression boomer was dead?

Boomer is on the other cylon basestar with the other cylon faction, she is the one that broke away.

And quite the quality episode in my opinion. Considering how poor the last episode was, it was a substantial improvement.

The Cylon / Anders / Starbuck stuff was fantastic this week.

The other half of the story, Roslin and Major Kira, didn't really do it for me. Thought it was all fairly dull and pointless.

Good episode overall though. Looking forward to getting those 5's out of the box :)

Best episode of Season 4 since S04E01.

I absolutely loved the Hybrid's "Chosen one... missing three.. final five.. home of the thirteenth" speech.

And I have to agree: Diana is gonna create murder this Season.

Also, that Basestar is just begging to be raped by a few missiles.

A battle is coming soon methinks. :)

Really looking forward to the next episode!

    Brilliant Episode;

Anders was great, i really wanted him to put his hand in the cyclon water-control panel thing and see what would happen! And I wanted him to pull the trigger himself when he had the 6 on the ground.

Hybrid scene was excellent as well and we saw what imo was a possible taste of a centurion rebellion to come.

The Roslyn/Bajoran scene was ok not the best but watchable.

And Poor Gaeta, I hope he gets to keep his leg.

And according to myepisodes.com 4x07 is on next week (the 17th) but its the following week (24th) that they take a break.

Yeah, I thought anders was terrific in this episode. Also seeing the showdown between Athene and the other Boomers. Once and for all, showing the differences between Athene and the rest, with her rugged determination to stick it out with her initial loyalties and to hell with the repurcussions. While the other boomers seem to be wishy-washy, flippers who jump from side to side in the hopes of ending up on the winning side.

Everyone dissed the Roslin?Kira Nerys moments but I actually loved them. Especially the part at the end on the boat. Seeing Roslin at her most vulnerable, near death...and resisting the temptation to give in, I thought was great. Showed how truly strong she is. And her moment with Adama was really heartwarming---that grin that broke out on his face seemed really heartfelt.

As for Starbuck's story, a major improvement I thought. Seeing the Basestar morph into the paintings of the comet was thrilling, and made me really like her again (I guess it justified her messed-up-ness).

Anders really changed in this one. My major problem with his character was just how inert he was, drifting through the show. In forty minutes he's crippled poor Gay?ta, AND inadvertently executed a 6. I really think that when he and the other Four touch the water-consoles, the true location of Earth will appear.

My hopes were dying these last few episodes. But this one really rekindled them. Looking forward to the new one, fo sho

As usual, beautiful and powerful acting from the cast. The scenes themselves spoke a lot about Roslyn's state of mind and the rapid changes she's undergoing. I just really don't like the direction the show is going with the religious angle (as I posted in the e05 thread). If the show starts going in the direction I think it's going I'll be very disappointed.

That is true. Sure it has been revved up in recent episodes but the religious aspect has been there from the start and always seemed like it would play an important part. So I don't see why people are complaining about it.

    Excellent ep.

Personally liked the boat scene, reminded me of the scenes from S1 with Six and Baltar in Baltar's old apartment in the sun etc. Always liked the way the colour and brightness of those scenes contrasted with the dark muddy battlestar.

No I think it's more to do with how Earth's culture is very much like the Twelve Colonies'---to the point where famous phrases, speeches, beliefs etc...are echoes. I read on Battlestarwiki that Baltar's speech over the radio carried several lines from Hamlet.

Hmmm...Hamlet saw a ghost that no-one else saw, right before disaster. Perhaps Starbuck will be the one bringing that disaster with her...?

"When history witnesses a great change, Razgriz reveals itself... First, as a dark demon. As a demon, it uses its power to rain death upon the land, and then it dies. However after a period of slumber, Razgriz returns, but this time, as a great hero." - The Legend of Razgriz, the Demon of the North Sea

Yea, I think they're doing Andres well with coming to terms with who he is. He has been inconsistant trying to hang on to his humanity (screaming at Six about New Caprica etc) and then having that moment with the Boomer model where he knew he could bring comfort to her because of what he is.

I also thought when he brought down that Six model everyone would be "Wtf! Cylon strength *gasp*" etc, but they didn't seem to notice heh.

This is the famous 'To Be Or Not To Be' soliloquay from Hamlet, with the 'undiscovered country' line, and he mentioned '(to) shuffle off this mortal coil' also. Ah Leaving Cert English, Ms. Clooney would be proud of me now! Probably a few more bits from it in there, but thats all I could pick out. At least it proves that I occasionally pick up on references from high-brow sources!

Ye i mean he may be fast/strong as a human but it was all very much cylon strength when he floored six.

Interesting how simmilar the modern hybrid and the older male one are because they both had simmilar predictions for Kara.

    T'was a little contrived alright.

"Okay, you three regular cast members come with me. Hey.. you - occasional guest star who we haven't really seen or heard from in a long long time, where do you think you're going?"

"Yeah, uh, it turns out I really really support everything you say all of a sudden and want to come on this mission with you"

"Alright then... but just try not to get yourself sacrificed for any huge game changing plot point or anything. Because that'd just be far too convenient".

    From Galaxy Quest:

Guy Fleegman: I changed my mind. I wanna go back.
Sir Alexander Dane: After the fuss you made about getting left behind?
Guy Fleegman: Yeah, but that's when I thought I was the crewman that stays on the ship, and something is up there, and it kills me. But now I'm thinking I'm the guy who gets killed by some monster five minutes after we land on the planet.

    Jason Nesmith: It's, uh, uh - -I don't know.
Guy Fleegman: Nobody knows. Do you know why? Because my character isn't important enough for a last name, because I'm gonna die five minutes in.

Although its the one part of the show that makes no sense, on one hand the cylons are faster/stonger, (break out of restraints/throw wopper punches, move fast enough so they cant be hit by a bulet (kara shooting at 6 in season 1)

So how comes somestimes cylons are just like humans and other times they posess superier strgenth?

    I think it's a narrative inconsistency, TBH (oh dear, I sound a little pretentious don't I?):)
I suppose you could argue that when they're under direct attack, they react defensively and powerfully. But when they're caught off-guard, they weaken.

Another theory: it's deliberate. At the beginning they seemed evil and indestructable and worse still, on the verge of winning the war without many fatalities on their part.
But as the series progressed, the humans became vicious, violent, aggressive, overpowering the Cylons slowly but surely. Their civil war is a metaphor for how even the mightiest can crumble when they're hit in the right spot (in this case, their belief system or lack thereof).
Hence, IMO, Bleach Blond Six (I've lost track) was pinned down by the furious Anders, looking helpless, lost and victimised.
Maybe it's all one big Tables Have Turned scenario. The writers seem smart enough to include their very abilities in the turnaround.

OR!!! They're losing their strength as they approach Earth???
