Yep...it's covered by an international warranty.

I believe that Alienware are overpriced for what they are. For the same price as a basic Area 51 15 inch laptop, you can get a top spec Dell XPS 1530...

They're really not worth it. You pay for the shinniness of the thing, unless you want to get up into silly money.

    The M15X is quality though...10k+ on 3dmark '06

But you have to spend money to upgrade to the 8800 gts... otherwise, you've got the same 8600Gt as the Dell XPS

You have to spends money to get more than 1Gig of Ram

You have to spend extra to get a decent processor.

Hobnestly, you're paying for the fact that it says 'Alienware' in glowing letters on the screen trim. For the price you'd pay for a decent 15Mx, you could get a top of the Range XPS 1530 (which would be superior, aside from the GPU), with all the trimmings, or you could even shuffle into XPS 1730 arena which will blow a 15mx out of the water.

Strange when I looked the XPS Vs Alienware mx15 the alienware came in a better machine for the price. Time to go look again I suppose.

But on the other hand XPS's are being discontinued, dell finally figured out it was not smart competing against yourself.

That was reported a few days ago, but then Dell came back and refuted it.

Tbh, when comparing them, you have to allow for the fact that theres nearly always a deal of some sort going on Dells (1o% off, free shipping, free upgrades etc). I don't know of any regular vouchers that go around for Alienware. When you take that into account, Dell are usually well ahead in the value stakes. You can get a M1730 with plenty of trimmings for around 2k at the moment - wait until you see the Alienware M17x, the same spec will probably cost 3k+
