it's the best comedy that has the trio of will farrell/owen wilson/ben stiller in it.

"the files are in the computer?"

"i can derelick my OWN balls"

"the derek zoolander center for kids who can't read too good"

"what is this? a center for ants? it needs to be at least three times this size!"

    gold.

I don't think Zoolander ever gets old. I have seen it so many times without ever being bored during it. Thats more than i can say for some of his movies though like night in museum........

    Bulemia. "you can read minds"?

The explosion at the start. Fcuking priceless.

    Absolutely hilarious movie!

Great music, top script and performances and Stiller's best performance.

Just watched it, was not expecting to it was just there and nothing else was on (except Juggernaut on MGM which is great btw), enjoyed all the daft cameos esp Duchovny and Bowie. Pity Relax was not better used.

    FaKe Gasoline accident

    It's a danceoff!

Jees, some people are easily amused. Saw this in the cinema when it came out years ago. Hated it then and I certainly won't be watching it again to make sure I was correct in my initial judgement of the film. I tend to find that the people who like these sort of films also enjoy the likes of Anchorman/Old School/Blades of Glory/whatever...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,919 ✭✭✭✭Xavi6

Not me. Absolutely love Zoolander and detest Anchorman/Blades of Glory/Talladega Nights etc. Old School does have some funny moments though to be fair.

I tend to find that the people who don't like these sort of films also hate april fool threads and may not have a sense of humour.

I'm like Xavi. I didnt laugh once at Blades of GLory, Dodgeball, or Anchorman ( that one is especially awful) but Zoolander is very funny. "I can Derelict my own balls." "The school for kids who cant read good..".

From that genre of movie, its by far and away the best, with Elf in second.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,919 ✭✭✭✭Xavi6

I'd have it number 1 alongside Van Wilder. What a movie that is!

Van Wilder is good. National Lampoon's have the pedigree.

It's a piece of crap. Much like anything Will Ferrill attaches himself to.

I loved Zoolander. It's a fantastic movie. But I've generally hated everything else Will Ferell has done bar Stranger than Fiction and Elf

Thought it was terrible and couldn't even watch it to the end...

Is it true that it is actually a massive rip off of Glamorama?

Bret Easton Ellis seems to think so:

Judging by your tagline you find Kevin Smith's films funny, which might explain why you don't like comedy.

ben stiller's work can be hit and miss but i love zoolander.

the part where hes in the bar with his family when his ad comes on the tv is great.mer-man

The bit where he has to do 270 to get into Maury's office because he can't turn right....

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

My assistant: Katinka Igagabovananana < will farel brilliant in the role, i think he's hit or miss, I like Zoolander and Anchroman but i think a few other of his films are much better.

Can't say i ever split myself laughing at zoolander, but its a film i always watch when its on. Endlessly quotable, few of my favorites would be:

"Put a cork in it Zane!"

"Do you understand that the world does not revolve around you and your do whatever it takes, ruin as many people's lives, so long as you can make a name for yourself as an investigatory journalist, no matter how many friends you lose or people you leave dead and bloodied along the way, just so long so you can make a name for yourself as an investigatory journalist, no matter how many friends you lose or people you leave dead and bloodied and dying along the way?"

"You think that you're too cool for school, but I have a newsflash for you Walter Cronkite... you aren't. "

Derek walking through the niteclub, Paris Hilton; "you rock" Derek "No you rock!"

    when Hansel calls derek "Day-Rack"

    "Han-solo!"

I find Clerks to be a truly awesome film.

I'm not even a Kevin Smith fan (I actually think he's total fan-boy dork who has one idea that he's be wringing out again-and-again for years now) but I'll happily state right now that Clerks pisses on a piece of rubbish like Zoolander.

Reading threads like this one really gets me thinking that there may be something to that Sixth Sense parody poster. "I see dumb people. They're everywhere. They walk around like everyone else praising movies like Zoolander and queuing up to see the latest Will Ferrell offerings. They don't even know that they're dumb."

I'd much rather not know that I'm dumb that think I'm smarter than everyone else, tbh.

Jay and Silent Bob and Dante and Randall are possibly the greatest comdey duo's of all time, bring on Clerks 3 in 10 years I say!

Wow, a quality post knocking other peoples taste in films.

I bow to your clearly superior taste and your tolerance in accepting other peoples views on films. Your sir are a saint.

Or maybe we can just get over ourselves and stop calling people names because they don't like all the same films we do?
