    Hi
Not sure if this is the right place for this but here it goes: and it sound like i'm a little weird but I assure ou i'm not (Much).

I travel along the new N2 motorway Ashbourne to M50, daily. For the last few weeks I've noticed a hugh increase in the number of Kestrels I've seen hovering in the fields on either side of the road and one day I was convinced I seen an Eagle!! Yesterday evening I seen an Owl in the same spot and then this morning I know I definetly seen an eagle on a fence post, again in the same spot.

Do we have eagles in Ireland (Meath?). Has anyone else noticed this? Am I mad?

    Thanks
    Jarvis

Apparently there are eagles in Ireland. I didn't think there was. Check this site.

There are eagles, but it's very unlikely you saw one. Most likely you saw a buzzard. Also, your post would have been better here. Perhaps a mod could redirect it?

There are in Donegal and in Kerry, as they are being re-introduced. Unlikely to have seen one that far away tbh.

Reckon You're right, done some more snooping and the Buzzard seems to fit the bill (No Pun Intended).

This site says it's similar to the golden eagle and lives all year round in the north and along the east coast, can be seen perched on fence posts, which is where I seen it. I'm glad now that I don't seem to be crazy. Still interested if anyone has seen all this bird activety in this area. Can a mod move it to the nature and bird watching forums please.

    Thanks all.
