Anyone else love the "Direct positive" in lightroom?C & C (kinda)

    I recently decided to use lightroom and was messing around with a few shot..Clicked the direct positive and i was amazed!:D
    Anyone else you use it and love it?

    You confuse and frighten me sir. If we are to swap Lightroom tips, go into it's curves tool on a daytime scene and drop the "Dark" and "Shadows" sliders all the way:

    Yeah, I've used the "Direct positive" preset on few pics of mine. Here is one (pimping :D)

    What's direct positive? I don't have lightroom.

    It's a traditional film technique, but can be done a few different ways. One was to expose paper and then then treat it with a chemical (I can't remember which) and then expose the paper as though you would a negative, therefore getting a 'direct positive' print without the use of a negative.
    Another would be to print onto paper from a slide, again avoiding the use of a negative.

    It typically resulted in fairly punchy, saturated and high contrast images.
    I think the preset on LR just mimics that punch, contrast and saturation.

    Its a preset in Lightroom, if you have PSCS3 or Elements you can input the same settings in ACR, I've attached a text file with all the settings.
