IF I miss any types on the poll maybe a mod can add it :)

Whats makes the best bacon sambo? 77 votes

I find the smoked can be too strong sometimes, there's a fine line.

Hickory FTW! :) Only thing is you're thirsty for the rest of the day, but plenty of beer usually clears that up :pac:

Yeah the hickory are loaded with salt but lucky for me the anti-androgen makes you crave salt so I generally end up adding more, it's disgusting at times the amount I use, I've been known to add salt to popcorn and dry roasted peanuts, at the same time :o:D

Maple: what way do you cure bacon?

Hickory smoked sandwiches with either brown or tomato sauce. They also go well in a BLT.

rashers: normal rind off fried then accompanied by balltmaloe relish on turnover bread

bacon: baked with mustard then on normal bread

    (f)

Meat and bread. The details of what type of bread or meat are largely ignored by myself.

Evidence of the fat it was cooked in gets bonus points.

<Troll> George Foreman grill to drain off the fat</Troll>

I am a fan of thick cut hickory smoked rashers, very hard to get decent ones in the US. They prefer the scrawny, little fecks a yokes. :/

where's the option to choose 'none of the above'

    Bacon/rashers = ROTTEN

Ok, so I may have some explaining to do. L and T stand for lettuce and tomato. However, I do wash it down with some strong cider. So, it's not really that healthy. BLT's are lovely.

Aw, Chew, what could have been.

I am gutted. Unless you are vegetarian? That's ok (there's a joke in there about a different type of meat, but I am above that)

You had me worried. Superquinn sausages ftw. Anyway, back on topic. It's good to see the hickory are winning.

    Superquinn sausages are too salty.

Clonakilty sausages, ftw. And black pudding. And white pudding.

Gotta be maple for me, barely cooked and smothered in brown sauce..... yum yum

There should actually be an option for "who cares as long as the sambo also has egg, sausage and ketchup (on batch)"

The only relevance to this thread that I can find in that is that you're thanking you're lucky stars it's not a bar mitzvah and there's a chance rashers may be on the menu?

I aint a veggie.I kid you not but I just dont like bacon. there always seems to be more fat on them then meat.

so dont panic. when chewy goes looking for a full irish breakie, she always get the bacon replaced with a sausage oh and the egg too. but thats a differen story altogether. :D

    :D

Ive voted the streaky for extra crispiness. Im a top gal for fries, get 'em juuuust right. I like the bacon well done, the yolk runny, and golden brown sausages, fried potatoes with tiny pieces of fried onion scattered.

Salt, Ketchup, warm milky sugary tea with a sliced pan and the kerrygold beside me. Some toasted, some not.. just for variation.

Really good bacon doesn't need any of that hickory flavouring rubbish, it's just gorgeous on it's own, cut all nice and thick. And I know this goes against some strongly held beliefs in here but, while I'd always fry sausages, bacon tastes best when it's grilled and in buttered batch bread.

Hell yeah. The fat doesn't go evenly crispy if you fry it.
You can make up for it with fried bread instead of toast though.
