B.Corp in galway is quite well regarded as degrees go. Not a lot of work in first year, but gets harder like anything after that.

beware that you will have to do a one year LLB after the degree if you're intent on going the law route.

besides that, friends of mine that have are in their LLB year of a BCorp degree have gone down various routes, getting traineeships in tax with ernst&young, asset management in BOI hq in dublin and a number of different things like that.

Thanks for the reply, I'am intent on becoming a solicitor and the corp. law course seems to suit me very well due to the mixture of business and law. Is it necessary to complete the LLB post grad though to join the law society?

necessary? no. but it is highly recommended as you will not have studied land, equity, criminal, and family at your undergrad level. also it's another year at college :D

oh and as a a by the way, if you're intent on becoming a solicitor, would you not choose the B. Civil Law route? It's 3 years, smaller class sizes, more choice as to what law subjects you do, and less exams come summer time than b corps!

Might be worth having a look at the Bachelor of Business and Legal Studies (BBLS) in UCD aswell, similiar focus and while the BCorp is an excellent degree it never does any harm to have a look around!

Thanks for all the advice guys! as for dub...well my story goes like this: i was in dcu doing accounting until xmas as i wasnt all that into it, so now im working until the autumn. I just wanna get a degree asap and get my life back on track, so im kinda reluctant to do 1 year of LLB after. I think im set on nuig however.

Oh as for the BCL, good course, but business has always been my thing at secondary school and its what im interested in so i just wanna stay true to my abilities so to speak. is it better regarded than B. Corp?
