Think this is a question for the girls! Im looking for a pair of the wedding runners you can get to change into on the evening of my wedding. Im brutal at wearing high heels and really want to be comfy so I can dance the night away. I know you can get them in America but I was wondering does anybody know anywhere else I can get them. Thanks, Amy

I was at a wedding where the bride acutally wore a pair of runners under her dress!! She got those mad fluffy leg warmers and put them on under the dress too (she got married in December so it was freezing) and it was really cool! Nobody knew she was wearing them (dress went down to the floor) and then after the wedding they were heading out to their car and it was bucketing rain, so she hitched up the dress and legged it to the car, the photographer got a great shot of it and it's one of their fave photos in their album. I've never heard of wedding runners, but maybe have a look in Schuh or Office or one of those and see can you find a nice pair of unusual flat shoes for the day.

I know what you mean OP, i was bridesmaid for my best friend 2 weeks ago, after the church i HAD to take off my shoes, my black wedge heel knee high boots where in the boot of the car for the following day so i put them on. dress was black and down to the floor so nobody saw them, until one of the groomsmen picked me up and started to run around the dancefloor with me over his shoulder, but at that stage i didnt care who saw them, i was comfy...
So i decided that day, that on my wedding day, i am definately wearing runners under my dress after the church and photos have been taken.. i cant wear high heels for too long. I think you would be better off wearing just a pair of plain white runners, found these pics of some from an american website and they look awful!! http://www.advantagebridal.com/sabrsn1.html

You can get them in a bridal shop in Gorey, can't remember the name of the shop but its on Edmonds street. Saw them there a couple of years ago so I presume they would still be stocking them.

Oh they're horrible! Seems like the ultimate marketing ploy, get some white runners, put ribbons instead of laces, and flog them to brides... Why not just white tennis shoes or, better, ballet shoes, which would be a bit more graceful?

you could try the new shoe shop open in rathwood, in tullow. they have fancy looking runners in bridal colours, nice and different that you'd wear again.

personally i would go for a pair of pumps!!

The name of that shop is Eden Bridal, saw them there when I was getting my dress last year.
