if you had the choice between the sigma 20mm f1.8 or the sigma 24mm f1.8, which would you go for and why?

the 20mm. When you are looking in the wide angle area of lens's, go as wide as possible. its most likely you already have at least 1 lens that can do 24mm well, but not lower as the lens will be as wide as it can go and there will be some viginetting. this lens will not be at its widest at 24mm therefore will take fine images at 24mm.
a 20mm non-zoom is designed to work at 20mm correctly therefore id go for the 20mm

thanks fguihen, you make some good points there, but i've just been reading up on both lenses and a lot of reviewers say the 20mm is unusable wide open and i think losing that extra stop is a big show stopper for me. hmm decisions decisions
