Yeah it's on my list now too.... one thing I dislike bout AEGs is the whiney sound they make and the lack of any feeling when you fire.... of course this remedies all that. Savage gun, want one!:D

    Escort HK416 anyone?

yes is an option but with the escort im put of by the long waiting time and lack of easy to get spare parts, and this is about half the price of the escort

Are escort not externally fed though?

Or have they started a new internal reservoir range?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,261 ✭✭✭Puding

the escort hk416 feeds thought the pistol grip another reason why i would go with the wa i like the idea of no external tank, but thats a negative to some and means the mags for the wa will be expensive

good video of teh escort hk416 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=szzOUttW1pQ

Ah but in a bind you may need a long burst, then as the rof and fps drops you'll be in trouble :D

There are those that swear by classics, a co2 rig can be very small.

But thats a matter of choice.

Now I'd like to know why they made an m4 cqb instead of an m4a1 or m16 varient?

hopefully ill prove that point in a couple of weeks

and i'd definitely be a fan of external air, gas in mag just has too many cooldown issues

now if someone could come up with a mag capable of holding co2 (or even better, HPA) and have a regulator built into the gun that'd be a great compromise between internal/external gas (and preferably for about $30-40 per mag too :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,261 ✭✭✭Puding

sounds interesting k would like to know how you get on with it :) i've seen tanks fitted in utility pouches and hydration packs im just not a fan of the tank for some reason horses for courses and all that :P does not mean i can not bee the advantages :)

I'm going to be running an HPA rig to an Escort SVD, which is small enough to fit into a small utility pouch.

Once you play with the gun for about 5mins you won't even realise that the cable is there.

classicairsoft.net < definitely worth a look if your interested in a classic or rig.

KD what did you get this time :)

Beast gtfo escort svd! I cant wait to go to red hammer now :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,612 ✭✭✭bullets

If it can be made so its Legal here I will save to buy one.

Seen a price of 358.38 Euro from one online store which sounds reasonable
even with duties added. But its up is up at 375 fps which is too hot.

If the Irish stores get some one that shoot under 1j and the price is not crazy higher then
the low price I have already seen I will buy.

Lol, It's being built/made atm, and they have a massive waiting time for them and they said 7-8months for me which should be about September time.

I've got an AtoZ SVD though :D

Indeed, bear in mind Bullets its produced in Japan, which has a very similar permitted energy output to us.

Ah go on, I'm interested now.

Is it a modern external feed gun or an actual classic?

I've just received delivery of this little beauty :D

The blow back from this is nothing short of awesome. I've fired a real M4, and I can guarantee that while this is nowhere near the experience, its definitely the nearest you'll get to firing a real assault rifle in airsoft. The rate of fire is phenomenal, and it has a great solid feel to it.

The only downside is its 340 FPS on green gas, but its legal on HFC134a.

Its not really a skirmish gun though, due to the lack of extra mags at the moment, but my God, its a beautiful little gun.

    <mod mode>

You'll have to make sure not to use green gas in it then

    </mod mode>

340 at room temperature (im assuming you chrono'd it in the shop) isn't too bad, in winter at 10degrees you'd possibly be ok on green gas.

One thing to watch out for though, i've read reports of these being very fragile on green gas/propane, some parts are breaking prematurely.

Yeah, I'd heard that too, but it'll be ok 'cos I wont be using it on green gas, 'cos that would be illegal :)

I just ordered 2 tins of HFC134a from those nice lads in Louth cos I cant get any of the stuff for my own shop :)

i'd laugh at you but you've cot a gbb assault rifle so you wouldn't care

That thing looks class, I had no interest in any of the american guns like the M16 or M4 but I'd buy that one.

I love blowback though, most of my purchases from now on will be blowback if I can help it.

    Pity its M4 Shaped though!!!
Any Luck with info/news on Spare mags for it ?

[EDIT]Question! Is it Open or Closed bolt system ?

I'm also not an Armalite fan but that preference goes out the window if
you have something as awesome as this.

Hopefully we will see a lot more GBB Rifle sized Airsoft stuff it
    seems to be getting popular.

Just the sound alone is way nicer than the sound of an electric motor.
    (for my tastes anyway)

Praying for the Day a GBB FAL is made!

Having tinkered with this today i have to say, this is the most realistic gun i have ever seen in airsoft!!, the blowback on it is shocking, it actually rattled my teeth together when i shouldered it at first.,:D the ROF is more camparable to a Hilti concrete drill than any AEG.,lol

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,341 ✭✭✭Fallschirmjager

well since i am such an m4 slapper, i will be getting one...but (yes the big B) i am waiting for version 2 before i splash the cash.

    vtec...LOL priceless review.....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,287 ✭✭✭kevteljeur

G36/C with blowback... Please... I have to have...

And a generous supply of midcaps. Not going anywhere without those.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 11,001 ✭✭✭✭Masada

speaking of which, the mags on that M4 are really heavy compared to regualr aeg ones, they feel lovely., wonder how much they gonna cost for spares though being gas and all.,
He timed the arrival of this to come on the same day as my fancy new baby just so mine would feel sh*te campared.,:D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,261 ✭✭✭Puding

im holding out as most forums have reports of this this
self destructing and parts breaking and without a good supply of spare parts and the release of spare mags i will hold off

i didnt see that puding and its a dahm pity. i think the problem is there are nearly real work physics going on in it with the bolt etc...so any minor engineering deviation in tolerances will cause problems...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,261 ✭✭✭Puding

real world physics as you said and the use of inappropriate materials on some parts seems to be causing a problem, if the wa m4 is popular im shore there will be a load of after market parts to put this all right just a pity there needed :(

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 11,001 ✭✭✭✭Masada

although compared to an AEG theres far less moving parts in one of them WA ones, theres not really much that can go wrong., i never take american reviews as religeon though, ive seen a lot of stuff that people over there has called complete sh*t and it reality it was brilliant (VFC 416 Star SCAR etc), not sure if thats due to them getting different specs or if they just exagerate a little.,

strangely enough or maybe not, i would guess the gas parts are fine as that technology is well known its all the other stuff.

still i guess time will tell..and i dont have the cash anyways so its not like i have a choice at the moment !! LOL

Tone was good enough to let me have a goosey gander at this bad boy yesterday and it really is the buisiness, feels lovely, looks really nice and the blackback is tremendous

first shots i didnt shoulder, thinking "hey this cant be that much" and it shot back into my shoulder, its a really nice bit of kit.

and as tony said, im tres jealous :(

    Per mag?

Fill a tac vest with 8 of those plus the cost of the gun...

    yes per mag so 560usd aeg + 1080usd mags = 1640usd

    10 mags, 500 bb's, 1080$

    2.16$ per bb

Yup I'll take a clone that costs less than one of those mags :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,341 ✭✭✭Fallschirmjager

perhaps its just because there are so few? remember the kar98 dboys ? rsov was charing was it 5 dollars a cartridge or something ridiculous. lets hope its just because of limited stocks...

if not, some guy or gal in china is going to clean up i suspect when they copy it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,287 ✭✭✭kevteljeur

AEGs will be the springers of 2010; and when all airsoft rifles are made this way, the cost will drop significantly, followed of course by even cheaper chinese clones. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'd say the first AEGs were pricey too.

The same will go for the mags, price is partially a function of high demand. If you're the only supplier for something that's so much in demand, you can set your price (and I'm sure a lot of that goes back into development at this stage; the engineers didn't design it for free).

Give it 2 to 3 years, we'll all be laughing at when we used glorified vacuum cleaners to shoot our bbs...

Edit: Hell, I'm on my soap-box now! The user base of this sport will level out at some point, and then the manufacturers will have to innovate to keep people buying new stuff. GBB rifles will be one part, we'll get added realism in other areas too, I'm sure.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,261 ✭✭✭Puding

gbb will never take over, gbb simply have to many area that limit there use, gass use and gbb came before aegs there is a reason they are known as 'classic airsoft'

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,261 ✭✭✭Puding

Western Arms GBB M4 with Magna gas system proved itself an instant hit. And it appears that there will be a vast array of aftermarket parts available. Inokatsu announced M16VN and XM177 kits. Details are on the pictures.

i think i just found something to complete the Vietnam look my team has been planing
