Good idea about the spurs but really i can only see people using these while training or probably going cross-country. All good i say as it might create a bit more publicity.

The overall shape of the boot is nice and i imagine would be flattering to the leg, im not gone on the heel or the nike logo though. I do like the sweep of the zip around from the back to the front, very sleek and i also like the idea of the spurr. I agree with togster, creates more publicity and nice to see huge globalised companies like Nike taking an interest in our sport. Thumbs up.

Like Bendihorse, I don't really like the heel or the logo.

I'd also be a little worried about the 'Full length Zoom Air cushioning for underfoot comfort' and 'High-abrasion synthetic rubber on medial boot for control and communication'. Will that be much different than an ordinary sole on boots at the moment? And if so, will it have much of an impact on the 'feel' of the boot in the stirrup?

Finally, from the picture it looks like the zip is going across the instep - could potentially be a little uncomfortable....

Does anyone remember the ad that was on tv a few years ago, where one company (I can't remember if it was adidas or nike) said that one day they hoped their products would be used in all Olympic sports, and had a video of showjumping running in the background? Anybody remember which company it was?

Really don't like the idea of built in spurs which could potentially be disastrous/cruel with a novice rider.

    I think that they're hideous!

I thought it was a wind up when i saw them first... they're desperate looking and not in line at all with the tradition of the sport... but then again backing by a company like Nike is a very positive thing and will hopefully lead on to more sponsorship and publicity for the sport in general in the future.... im sure they will take off and be huge if they are supported by some of the major riders in the olympics... remember how silly the GPA hats looked when they came out first and look at how popular they are now... u'd never know those boots could follow the same path...!!??

Whatever about the comfort and practicality of them, they look awful. What on Earth is that heel about? Plain old black all the way.

"an adjustable titanium screw-in spur system (inspired by track spikes)"

Surely this means that they're not 'built in' as such and that you don't actually have to use them?

I didn't read the text to be honest Convert, thats def a much better system than a permanent system, but i do like the fact that its 'built in' to the boot.

yup all you need is a few f**kwit chav types with no leg control to decide these are a good idea!

I think they are hideoous id rather go barefoot! :) Saying that Im not a fan of any of the big sport names like nike and adidas cant remember the last time I set foot in a shop like lifestyle or jjb. Its like the GPA hats I cant stand them why pay a couple of hundred quid to look like you have a plasticy cycle helmet prototype on your head?

I see your point, Sugar Drunk, but I think people like that will use spurs regardless of whether or not they're built in. It's depressing to watch!
