Bog garden ideas!

ok so i messed up laying the lawn last year, mainly by doing before asking and puting about 1/8th the amount of grass seed that i should have down, however, we do have a patchy lawn at the moment which i havent managed to kill yet. just spread 10-10-20 on most parts to give it added boost. however i have one problem area.

I spent mega bucks having contractors in lay piping to put in drainage and top soil, etc etc. Got builder back a second time as kitchen sink /rainwater drainage was blocked, he came out moved it into middle of my newly laid lawn, compacted the soil with the jcb used to dig out the drainage pit, We then re laid lawn aerated etc.

Now i have a lovely rising water problem again coming from the kitchen/rainwater run off. its in the middle of the garden, and evidently its very fertile water as the grass there is growing like no mans business, i mean i could sell it as silage, (I didnt spread 10-10-20 there)

Anyway, i cant least of all the expense, dig up my garden again to fix the bad drainage, the builder wont come back so was thinking of making the most of fertiliser.

im going to plant a gunnera, but was wondering if anyone knows of anything else that thrives in boggy peaty soil. i have a grass ( not sure of name but grows to about 6 feet with feather plumes ) and an idea of few structural plants to soak up most of water, then pond / marsh flowers to edge it, and put decking /patio bbq in front of it where it is thankfully dry. A sort of personal island.

Behind the wall of plants im hoping the water will be substanially used up so will slow down on the growing and dry out a bit. But thats probably wishful thinking,

Anyway any advise on what to do, what plants to use or just move house is greatly appreciated.
