Sony Ericsson W810i Headphone Inconsistency!!!!

    Lads,

I love my W810i to bits, I love the way that I can carry around a digital camera, a music player, a radio and on top of that a good phone all in one. However the bloody headset for it...

The original headset was fine, good sound from it and comfy earbuds but then I lost the set on a plane coming home from Stockholm.

So I went on to ebay and bought a set for about €15 and it turns out to be fine. Though the set looks the same as the last one, it isn't quite as bassy and when I turn the volume up on the phone I don't quite get the same response.

Anyway that set began to go wonky at the connector end so I went back to ebay and got a new set of the same ones but these are so so bassy that they actually effect the quality of high pitched sounds in music and it sounds like voices are slightyl muffled. However the volume doesn't have to be turned up loud on the phone for me to hear it.

Has anyone ever experienced this kind of inconsistency on any headphones before, whether they be phone (this model or otherwise) or hifi or radio????

I'm tempted to go and buy a pair from the Sony store in Cork City but then they may be just as bad...or good...it seems like one just cannot tell!
