My Hd ready tv is about 2 years old . Its a Phillips .

I recently bought a new xbox 360 arcade for the hdmi connection on the back , since I have the hdd and wireless adaptor already for it .

So I got a hdmi Cable and it came with an adaptor to plug into the back of my tv , but my tv on the back reads DVI-I ( hd/tv) .

I tryed plugging in my hdmi adaptor / cable into the back but I got no signal in either a/v or ext 1 .

I got a DVI adaptor off my pc's video card thinking all Id have to was connect the DVI adaptor into the back and I could just connect the hdmi adaptor to it , but the DVI adaptor has a D-Bus connection on the back . Now I dont know what to do ???

You need one of these ....

Or use the component , either one will give you HD. Oh , and DVI does not do sound , so you'll have to run a separate cable for that.

What cable would I need for that ? And what channel would I need to have it on to play my 360 w/ HDMI ie . my old xbox 360 used ext 1 or somthing .

My Philips hdtv has a "HD" channel in the AV menu.

As for the sound, depends on the audio connections but if it's like mine a standard RCA to phono/stereo cable should do the trick. They're fairly common and you may have one already.
