Weird issue - wind noise

This sounds a bit weird but does anyone else find the wind noise excessive on the Nokia 6300? Ie. I've had it for nine months and apart from the crap battery it's a nice phone. But any time I call people when I'm outdoors they complain that it sounds like I'm in a wind tunnel. Anyone else have this problem?
