Sky Satellite Dish Query

I have Sky satellite at home and I also have a 2nd house that I use on occasions but has no cable wired to it.

I have a spare Sky box and was wondering is it possible to get a Sky dish to put on the 2nd house and use the spare Sky box with it?

I know sky boxes are paired with their cards but I was told that if I brought my card with me to the 2nd house, I would be able to get the Free channels like RTE, etc. Its only to kill the boredom in the evening and if I was going to stay for an extended period, I'd bring my original sky box with viewing card.

I don't want to get one of those big white dishes you see all over the place as it will look tacky, so the smaller discrete sky dish will suit better.

    What are my options?

Yes to answer your question. The only channels that are paired is sports and movies, all other channels will be seen on both boxes.
Tacky white dishes are most likely much better than the sky ones which rust in 12 months time anyways!

will any dish work with the sky box receiver as long as I point it in the right direction? What size is typical? 60cm?

Is it easy to find the satellite by trial and error?

Try the 64cm from triax, it will last years longer than a SKY dish, get the dish put up and the cable run, it pretty easy to find the astra2 satellite, apart from the sky receiver there are many other receivers that can emulate a sky receiver, the openbox x810 will accept your sky card and give you ALL the channels you subscribe to inc sports and movies, it would save you having to cart the sky box with you for the weekend, pop the viewig card in your wallet and insert in the X810 when you get to where you are going and enjoy what you are paying for.

And yes, any receiver will do fine! Its easy to install one, trial and error, loads of help pages and install guides on google. Also, I'd recommend triax 78 for safety, no harm in slightly bigger dish for rain compensation etc.
