    Ladies & Gentlemen,

I am considering investing in a large CQB site in the South East. Estimated 25,000 + square foot. The place is huge. There will be plenty of parking, toilet facilities & possiblily a shop (food & airsoft) on site.
Will have full public liability insurance on site. All airsoft products will be chronographed before play commences. Can arrange specials with hotels' & B&Bs' for those who wish to travel. 2 hours from Dublin & 2 hours from Cork. Student, OAP & IAA members will avail of a discount.
Would people be interested in such a venue?

Forgive my sceptisism but its been going around alot latley.

Would love to see it though.

    Tell me more!

Forgive my suggestion here if it seems out of hand or at odds with your plans but, with 25k sq ft, would you not be better off not opening a CQB site? Just because the site is indoor doesn't mean it has to be a CQB orientated site? Sure, incorporate CQB elements, but with that amount of space you could do a lot.
CQB, to my mind, means room-to-room and house-to-house. Small, confined areas like offices, corridors, narrow rooms etc. where every doorway is a potential chokepoint.
If you have that much room, the addition of some open areas with low cover rather than 8ft walls would add a dynamic to the game. Adding a few of these plaza-style areas, would provide natural rally points as well as giving instant game objective points (stick a flag in the middle of each plaza for a capture-the-flag game etc).

Just a thought I had, given the amount of space you seem to have available, it would be a shame if it was just one sprawl of CQB style kill house rooms.

Not too found of the idea of QCB really....
Would it not be mostly bang killing?
I think multiple house with open plazas would be great!
Would have to give QCB a shot though anyway.

Thanks Nakeddex for ruining the suprise. I'm heavily negotiating with auctioneers & property owners at the moment.

Getting properties is not the problem, neither is insurance, the problem is down to demand. I do not want to make a bad investment. Not looking to make money, just break even, for the time being anyways.

I'm investigating every avenue at the moment. Looking for premises with every amenity. Also have to consider planning permission. It's a long trudge & I never blow rainbows up anyone's ass!!

Hey, I didn't say what I said to ruin anything. I've just seen plans for big indoor/outdoor cqb facilities in the past, both for airsoft/paintball and for military training and many of the airsoft/paintball ones overdo the room-to-room aspect when they have space to make things more interesting.

I'm just speaking as an airsofter and giving an opinion. I can't see how I've ruined anything but if I have I apologise.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,348 ✭✭✭Rhinocharge

My apologises also NakedDex. I should of put that in brackets. I'm a sarcastic fecker. Now that we're all friends again, I know what you mean. At present I'm looking for the best that money can rent/lease. I'm hoping to put Airsoft on the same par as golf. Educate the general public& employ a few people along the way.

Count me in when it opens. If you do include all the facilities you say then it would be interesting if they were incorporated into the games. A full day's gaming with capture the toilet half way through should provide plenty of motivation

    Ladies & Gentlemen,

We thank you for all your support. We are hoping to open the most realistic CQB simulation & military training grounds within the next 3 months. Unfortunately it won't be open for the summer due to planning permission & regulations. However when we do open, we hope to see you all there.
Marshalls & baddies will be required, we are an equal opportunities employer.

After many months of negotiations, a quality location was secured. Located between New Ross, Enniscorthy & Wexford.

Yes weeder. Marshals will be required, terrorists & drug dealers also & any other nasty piece of work that is the bane of society.

No, it the legal limit to Airsoft AEG's in Ireland.

nope thats the legal limit for all aegs in eire, above that and its a firearm:rolleyes:

    wups too late^^

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 47 llort

ill ask the question again, is this the official limit from the people who are actually running the site?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,533 ✭✭✭iceage

Sorry LLort, missing your point, and it is? Its late see, so it must be me;)..the legal limit at any Airsoft site, in this country is 328fps. If an AEG is found to be over that limit, well then its no longer an AEG, get it? Its classed as a firearm. Different ballgame.

    llort wrote: »

its doesnt matter what limit the site owner sets, if its >328 fps with a .2g bb

the owner of the aeg is in posession of a firearm, anything below 328 is fine,

but even if the site owner said the limit is 400fps, you cant have a rifle firing

at that because its illegal, its simple

EDIT: iceage in before me ^^

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,533 ✭✭✭iceage

Actually, someone just said something to me thst makes sense..LLort is it that you feel the fps is maybe too high in a CQB envirioment? which, to many could be a valid question. If so, my bad for jumping on ya:o

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,984 ✭✭✭NakedDex

The legal limit here is fine for CQB, we were rocking seriously close firefights in Old HRTA back in the day and noone complained. Getting riddled by a SAW that was shooting on the money from 5 metres isn't fun for the 2 seconds it's happening but you get over it. It's fine after 3 seconds and it's a funny joke after 10.
This whole "wrapped in cotton wool" mentality about CQB isn't neccessary. The standing limit is spot on for it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,533 ✭✭✭iceage

Sing it mate, an M249 from less than 10ft! ahh the memories, :D (different site) agreed on the fps by the way, otherwise we'd have more fun throwing soggy oranges at each other!

yes exactly, top of the class, all the rest can get the fúck out, appology accepted.
i kknow that some english sites enforce a FPS limit or semi only rule on their CQB games.

i dont have a problem with the legal limit but if its CQB and some mug is FA'ing cos he can shoot for shít and is simply walking his bbs onto target then that person has no place playing CQB

for the record if anyone FA'd me with a SAW or any other gun at close range simply because he could na then continued in that fashion then i would knock him the fúck out, fact.

if thats your mentality then i dont think you have any place at a skrimish site, stupid knobs like that should stick to COD 4 or whatever computer game that sparked their interest in airsoft.

the sport can do with out them in my opinion.

    yeah.........

see we have a thing called restraint and we take the good with the bad, its

not like bb's hurt, even at close range, and yes i have been FA's at close

range, not a major incident

Actually, if that's your mentality, you're the one who doesn't belong at a skirmish site.

Full auto is not only useful, it's damn near neccessary in proper FIBUA tactics. 3-round burst would be the best option but next to noone has this on their rifles so auto is the next best option. Feel free to go in semi-only, but you'll be on your own.
I fill the marksman role on the team and the rifle I use has only got a semi function, which doesn't bother me. In open field play I'd stick on semi regardless. In FIBUA/CQB I'll be using a different (and heavily modified) rifle, and I can assure you it's going auto/burst from the second the first door breaches.
