As above, what's everyone's general opinion on this brand as regards quality, value for money, toughness, etc. Been reading around and they seem to be high end, high quality. Anyone confirm? If response is good I'll probably be going for their new AKMS when it comes out.

they can be hit and miss as the akms is nopt even out yet you can not tell, there aks are known as the best of the bunch from reviews i've read, with g&g it comes down more to the model than the brand in terms of quality and reliability and the things your asking for there is plenty of reviews and threads in forums just have a look around do some searches of forums, the g&g looks like a clone of the inko/rmw aks even with the same pics but no one has got there hands on it to tell yet, hoping for a steel body and not there alloys they have used on there past aks

Id highly reccomend G&G in genreal from my own personal experience, i have the M4 CQB-S and the H is comming soon, ive also worked on a number of the M16s/M4s and i was very impressed with the quality of the internals,., there probably the highest quality ive seen in a gearbox so far and thats including TM, CA etc., :)

well i dont have any ak's at all but i do have 4 g&g's. i have never had a problem with any of them. one thing you do need to be careful with...a few years ago they released a few dodgy versions and ever since there has been a feeding frenzy (particularly in the UK for some reason), what you will find is a lot of the feeders have never owned one and just repeat what others have said. the general opinion was they have really good externals but dont have real trades. now i am not a big trade or logo guy (except the H&K416) so if that bothers you, you need to consider it. the other view is the older models had crap hopup in them, i can say the models in the last 6 months definitely do not, in fact, i have been searching for replacements as i like them so much. they do have on mine anyways, a huge rate of fire, kinda scary actually. now i dont like huge rof's cos i like mid caps and that means you have to carry a lot. some of the later models are very particular (apparently) on the voltage and have to be 9.6v.

I would not be as experienced as vtec on the internals so i bow to his better judgement, but i have never done the internals on them namely because they have never given me any problems so i dont tend to fiddle if it aint broke. the y do strip down easily (i have m4's, a scar, a mp5 oh and another m4 (notice something there, yes i am an m4 whore)) but then again all m4's do. i also found them to be extremely accurate so i guess they have tight barrels in them, however i dont know that for a fact so you better check. to be honest i am such an appalling shot i would be better with a friggen blunderbus. their bodies are made of magnesium and at this point people panic, dont. it means they are very rigid, strong but also lightish.

i like them, always have...some dont. its like all makes, some adore tm, some adore classic army, some adore clones...its a case of finding out whta you like. for instance i have been in airsoft for years and years and remember CA when they were a steaming pile of sh1t copies of tm. i have never owned one, yet my opinion is set, i never will and that is ridiculously unfair but -- welcome to airsoft..people have opinions and they are not for changing, well generally anyways.

i have g&g, g&p,dboys etc. for the top end i tend to pick g&g or g&p namely because with the dollar i think they are great value. others may think differently.

i would say if you are looking for collector items then the trade logo issue would be a big problem. i use them to play and as a result that why i have 4.

probably best to goto Tony who is their reseller in ireland and have a look at them to see what you think. i was going to buy a replacement gearbox for them recently however they are priced the same as systema, so they aint cheap.

so see what you like before you plonk your hard earned cash down..and then decide...if they are not good for you pick something else, if they are, pick them-- isnt choice wonderful??

Don't tempt me, i have real steel ammo + licences to pay for as well ya know!

On a serious note I am definitely considering G&G or CA, as I want something tough and reliable that'll last for a good while. RDF tactics training has taught me to be rough with guns unfortunately, and I need an AEG that'll stand up to the abuse :p. Can't wait for their AKMS, it looks fooking BEAUTIFUL, plus it's made of steel, wonderful strong shiny steel!

According to G&G, all of their new releases will incorporate a blowback system.

id be less likely to reccomend CA to be honest, i know they used to have really good internals but from a lot of the stuff ive seen lately it seems the quality just isnt there anymore., ive repaired a few of them for people in HRTA with chewed gears, even my own SL8 that chewed the piston,.,
My G&G has been a lot more reliable, in fact it has never had so much as a hicup since i got it ages ago and i use it a lot., also ICS are lovely too, i worked in hiveminds one recently and didnt wanna give it back., :D others ive played with would be G&P and VFC, most of which being really nice quality., :)
