Did everyone know harrison ford was a carpenter and this is how he became famous. george lucas gave him the job because he had good carpenter skills. some people think he was a plumber but in fact this is false.

he was an actor before Star Wars, but yes, while working on the set he stood in for the Han Solo actor for a while and Lucas liked him so he gave him the job

He was also President of the United States too, notably the most famous highlight in his term was when his Air Force One jet was hijacked by Gary Oldman and some goons. Not only did former-president Ford manage to subdue the terrorists and win back control of the plane he also managed to kill Oldman.........who, strangely, is still acting in movies today.

    Harrison Ford is also male.

    ;)

Didn't he have a stint on working on tour with The Doors?

It's widely established that Harrison Ford is the most boring man in Hollywood.

was this before or after his stint as a soviet submarine captain?
    Harrison Ford is also male.

    debatable.

It just goes to show the joke that is Homeland security. Oldman hijacks a plane, kills a load of people and attampts to kill the president, and he's let off with it and has even recently joined the police force in Gotham. Yet when I send one picture of my penis to Hilary Clinton, I get refused admission into the states. It's a joke!

Harrison Ford also had a brief music career where he went under the name of John "Scatman" Larkin.

Well he was with a police force before hand, a drugs unit. He was head of a SWAT assualt on an apartment believed to be occupied by highly dangerous foreign killer-for-hire and a 14-year old girl. Was hospitalised for months after the foreign asassain, after been shot by Oldman, pulled a grenade as he was dying, thus blowing the entrie apartment block up. 32 brave souls were lost that day.

What! Indy, Deckard and Han Solo are legends to a man, but watching Harrison speak in interviews is a grand cure for insomnia. The man has an awful dull drone. Watch the making-ofs for Bladerunner, he can barely raise his voice above a monotone.

For some reason I thougth that was in France (probably because Jean Reno is french, and I don't actually think about things I see. But it does raise a question why a reknowned hitman like Reno is completely forgiven and allowed to do voice overs for car manufactureres now! ).

So, Oldman was a cop before he hijacked the Air Force One and was just reassigned with a slight demotion and spends a little time in prison (although I think that was an unrelated matter, possible for that incident when he tried to help a force of unspeakable evil destroy the universe. But I can't be sure). Steal something belonging to your boss and see how long you last in your job! It's damned favouritism.

Little known fact but do you remember those stunningly constructed sets from 2001 A Space Odyssey? Well Harrison Ford walked around sets not dissimilar to those during the filming of Star Wars.

He used his carpenter skills as he helped the Amish construct a barn in Witness, lest not forget. He actually built that barn using the skills he mastered on the set of Star Wars Episode IV, before being cast as Han Solo, the roguish Millennium Falcon captain beloved of Galactic princesses. As already stated above.

"Scatman, fat man, black and white and brown man
Tell me 'bout the colour of your soul.
If part of your solution isn't ending the pollution
Then I don't want to hear your stories told.
I want to welcome you to Scatman's world"

    God Bless Scatman!

So true, he does come across as being a complete pat kenny in interviews.

I know it was something to do with the origins of scatman... but anyway, do you understand the chorus? I'm searching for the message buried deep within it. Btw at about 2 mins 50 he coughs a fur-ball!

    The Scatman Chronicles (1996)

    Directed by: Roberto Badgio

Starring: Harrison Ford, Jean-Claude Van Damme, some TV actors.

Based on the harrowing true story of Scatman, the man who brought the world together through infectious tunes. Now, on his most dangerous mission yet, Scatman (Harrison Ford) must solve the mysterious riddle of the magical "Um-Dilly-Ay" wizard's orb. The orb's magic can turn the "difficult 3rd album" into a monster success. Unfortunately for Scatman his childhood enemy, Frenchy, the African ninja (Van Damme) is out to seek it's power for evil so he can rule the charts with his benign Euro-trash dance-pop music. A star-studded cast of nobodies and the non-sensical editing of footballer-turned-director Roberto Badgio ensured this movie was banned in every single country in the world, including those that will be created in the future. An uncut version has been floating around on Torrents for years, though nobody has yet downloaded it.
