    Hey,

I am just wondering if anybody knows what the stop light on the dash means? When i start the car it comes on and also a little red light comes on above the temp guage. After a while it goes off. I have not got the manual for the car so I dont know what it means! Any help appreciated!

Well, If Xsara has any same logic than my old 205 Peugeot, then STOP means = dont drive, for me it was that car was overheating badly,

and using more about this logic, have you checked the coolant level of the car, that would be my quess.

Yes I checked the coolant and topped it up. The temp gauge needle is hovering on the middle mark. It does not seem to be overheating.

Do you still got STOP light after topping up the coolant?

Have you checked oil level as well,

Your handbrake is not on? ;)

Basically I think STOP levels is for oil level/pressure, coolant level/overheating and maybe for brakes,

I have checked the coolant level, and the oil level and they are grand! The car is in no way overheating so i have no idea what the story is! Thanks anyway.
