Group Texting

    Hi everyone,

My local gaa club want to start group texting, 10 teams (u14, u16 etc.) with about 20 players in each team. each team has three selectors in charge.

they all have vodafone mobiles so I decided to setup the all at once service with vodafone, but that is not working out as it is 13c for each text, and as they are sending 2 texts a week, the bill is too high.

I was told about text bundles (5c a txt) but i was also told that a phone cant sent 24 txt messages at once.

The gaa people in charge of texting are not good at computers and only have dial up connection.

Does anyone know of any affordable and reliable group texting service for this kind of thing? Any GAA clubs out there use one?

    thanks :)

    Try Clicakatell Communicator. www.clicakatell.com

Its a South African Bulk text company. It depends on the exchange rate, and sometimes the network you are sending to, but the cost is around 3.0-3.5c a text.

You buy credits, set up as senders the people you want to use the service and then set up an address book. Simple when you get to use it.

Another problem is internet, very bad connection here because we are in the rural area. So bad I am using vodafone bb and thats not great either :(
