Im gunna get this checked out because its beginning to annoy me at this stage but im just wondering has anyone had this sort of pain...

I play soccer and it usually flares up badly after a match/training.

I get a pain at the bottom of my stomach and down the inside of the top of my inner leg both left and right think thats the groin strain right? Also get a pain in my balls which is a bit more worrying after a match aswel.

I checked it up on google and they seem to hint at a sports hernia, it sounds pretty serious but im usually not to bad if i dont play on it for a few days....by the way i get a bad pain in my hip aswell though not sure if thats just unlucky injury wise or if its connected. Im only 22 like ffs!

Anyways anyone had these sort of pains? Or any experience of this sort of injury?

Go see a physio, surely us "boardsies" cant diagnose injuries and generally dont have the medical background.

I have had a many a grion strain but it is generally localised to one particular area and would usually rest for a week or two... and get some friction work done by a physio to remove the scar tissue!

It is nasty injury which wont go away until you get some advice from a physio... I had a groin strain problem from June last year until October - it wasnt nice!!

I can tell you now, the groin is one of the sorest places to do damage to. I tore mine playing soccer 2 years ago (when I was 21) and it took 9 months before I could play without any pain. I couldn't get out of bed in the morning and every time I sneezed/coughed I had sharp shooting pain from my groin right up to my shoulder. I passed it off as a strain and kept going back playing when the initial pain subsided. Eventually I gave in and sought professional help. Best thing I did.

I went and got extensive physio treatment and only avoided an operation because of my age. The only real cure is rest but definitely go see a physio. They will do ultrasounds and give you good exercises to do that will strenghten to groin and the muscles around it. I was given a lot pelvic exercises to do as apparently all that area is connected and therefore affected.

Basically, stop playing immediately, go see a physio and rest. That's all you can do.
