I'm just wondering has anyone successfully got an e65's email program or the skype program 'fring' to work using the meteor network as the connection. I can get both of there programs to work no problem using wifi but when i try to use meteor wap or meteor isp i get the error message 'internet server not found'. Any help would be appreciated. Also i read in other posts about using edge connection which meteor has up and running. According to the spec the e65 supports this but do i need to get different settings for this type of connection. I have got opera mini to work no problem with meteor wap. Thanks.

Edge will work automatically once in an area that supports it. There is no button or option to turn it on separately.

Ring up Meteor and ask them to confirm that the ISP Access Point is active on your account.

Thanks for the quick reply. I rang up meteor last week and the lady told me that wap was not enabled on my account and that she had now enabled it. I am signed up to the 250mb package and the web works ok just not the emails or fring. Thanks

I know a week has passed, but just in case this isn't resolved ...

You do not want WAP access as you've said above - you want ISP/Data access activated as random explained. If you get the 250MB package but are connecting via a WAP profile you'll probably be paying through the nose and not using your data bundle. Email apps, etc., will not work on WAP.

You should be able to download the data settings from MyMeteor. Though the data.mymeteor.ie APN seems to have replaced isp.mymeteor.ie

You can see on MyMeteor -> View Calls whether you are using GPRSDATA or GPRSWAP.

Sorry if this is a little bit OT but can anyone find a price difference between GPRSDATA and GPRSWAP on meteor?
I've been using GPRSWAP until now, and have been charged quite a lot for data transfer.
when does it become more sensible to use the Data Add-on?

Bill Pay - Other Call Costs ...

    GPRSWAP - 2c/kB (wap.mymeteor.ie)

    GPRSDATA - 492c/MB, 0.49c/kB (data.mymeteor.ie)

    250MB bundle - 999c/250MB, 4c/MB, 0.004c/kB (ditto)

Leaving aside the base WAP pricing, once you head for a couple of MB/month you should be using the bundle and then you can do all sorts of other things you wouldn't have thought of :)

At least that's how I read it ...

    This can't be right...

    For 250MB:
    GPRSWAP: €5120 (!!!)
    GRPSDATA: €1254.40
    250MB Add-On: €9.99

    Unbelievable.
