cavity fill insulation for extension

    Scenario is an old house where theres a two storey extension - well, two extensions in so far as downstairs was done first in mass concrete - followed by upstairs many years later in cavity block.
    I am considering filling the cavity wall with insulation. There is access to the cavity from the top - although theres very little space. Could only get it in there if pumped in thru a hose. Which leads to my question;

    Given that this is a very small insulation job, its unlikely that a cavity fill contractor would be interested in it. Is it possible to buy fill myself - and hire some sort of pump that could drive it into the cavity?

    I have a mish mash house with multiple extensions on it that I am thinking of filling the cavities. You will find that companies will fill small cavities but will have a minimum charge. If you get the polystyrene beads mixed with glue, they are Agrement Bord certified so at least you know the job has been done properly.
