Lisbon Treaty

I've been reading up on the Lisbon Treaty and it strikes me that there's a lot all rolled up in this one Treaty. I know it's a pretty important referendum but I don't think the implications of it have fully been explained/discussed.

So learned scholars, what is your view on it? How do you think it will actually affect the EU?

I would suggest going to Soc > Politics > European Union, where there is already a long, LONG thread on the treaty.
If you have a particular concern, they can probably answer it for you.

EDIT: And Libertas's argueements are very, very dodgy, I wouldn't follow them without thought.

Thanks, will do. Yeah Libertas haven't really got the best arguments... Apparently they had a post up the other day accusing Berties entourage of drunkenly setting off the fire alarm in his hotel while in Washington.

The post is still up on politics.ie if you want to see it.
It wasn't officially made by Libertas, just by David Cochrane, a Libertas Chairperson (I think thats what he is anyway.)

EDIT: Sorry, he is the campaigns Director.
