Off we went for the W/E to Achill (gloooorious place, when the sun is out, as it was), drove down a really narrow lane to dead end, swung the van round and got out.

Came back a few minutes later to drive on, insert key, turn ...nothing . No lights on the dash, no starter, no nothing.

Waahhh ...panic ...we'll be stuck here till after the bank holiday ...

Ok ...check fuses. Nope, everything in order. Wires behind ignition ...seem ok.

But hang on ...why is there no radio either? It was working five minutes ago?

A quick look under the bonnet solved the riddle ...the plus connector from the battery had come loose (must have put it on in a hurry the last ime I replaced the battery) ..Irish roads, eyh? :D
