The world's largest cruise ship on her way up Cork Harbour this afternoon (3rd May) on her maiden voyage.

I saw something of a similar size in the mouth of Waterford harbour today. Was bloody massive, totally dominated the view as I was looking back from Hook Head. I wonder was it the same one?

I tried to go for something different...

Sorry for hijacking your thread, Carrigman. :)

Why is your pic so dark in bottom right corner?
The picture looks more like a print postcard type thing?

Looks like a vignette to me.

    Some great images guys.

Carrigman, I could be being slightly askew myself but the ship looks like it's sailing up hill? Is there any chance your horizon is ever so slightly out?

Peadar, what lens did you use and is the vignetting from the lens or did you add it afterwards? The picture - some odd reason - puts me in a mind of Venice - I don't know why because I've never seen a cruise ship there.

Wasn't sure if he went for a "special" effect like, but after checking his flickr it contains other photos with the same problem.

    Canon 17-35mm 2.8 L
    The vignetting is from PS.
I wanted to draw the focus into the ship.

    "Problem"? It's a style, that I chose.
There's only a wall in the bottom right, so I didn't care too much for the detail.

LOL. It's not a problem, it's a design. It's artistic license. I'd say it was done in Photoshop.

On top of the vignetting, I upped the blacks in the blue, cyan & black. That caused the detail to darken.
Was in a dark mood today.

Why I thought it was a dodgy lense was you have it in lots of pictures. :p
Then I checked your Sports pictures and they were "normal" :p:p
