Extractor fans...

Hi all, my current extractor fan over my cooker is not vented out to a hole in the wall, it has no tube running from it to take the fumes outside.

I don't know much about these matters obviously but am wondering is there some extractor fans, like mine, that still work effectively without being vented to the outside world? What's the correct name for these types of fans if so?

    Hi
If it isnt vented then it must recirculate the air inside the house. There has to be special filters, usually charcoal ones, which will remove smoke and fumes(not water though) from the air. These filters must be cleaned periodically.
