    Nice clip from Kelly McCann.

    This is just one small aspect - if you were grabbed for some reason.

    As pointed out in the clip though, you don't even have to wait for him to grab you - as soon as you feel the subject is combative - he gets banged (with repeated striking).

    it would send me into deep deep depression to live with that level of fear/anger/aggression....to go around thinking of ripping peoples heads off for putting a hand on me :( maybe its needed in some areas, some peoples jobs or whatever...i dont know....i'm just glad its not in 'my world'.

    this has nothing to do with mma/tma/rbsd or even martial arts training...just my personal opinion on a clip posted

    Actually, thats a very interesting perspective John.

    But I think you have taken it a little bit too literally. If you listen to what McCann says he talks about avoiding a conflict at all costs, which is the way it should be of course. But when he makes the comment about "tearing the guys head off", he really is installing the correct mindset to win. It's obviously not to literally tear the guys head off - but when things "kick off" you go full on until the threat is down, so you can safely escape.

    How many times have you heard guys say similar things before they get into the ring? Again, it's a way of conveying just how much effort you will need win in a bad situation.

    Also, there has to be a "level of force to level of threat" parallel here. You're not going to smash someone to bits because, they bumped you in the street. But if they pulled an knife, and you had no chance of running away (let us just suppose you couldn't for the sake of my comment). Then you would try and tear his head off.
