How does a service work?

    I have a 99 Opel Corsa.

I've just pulled out my AA booklet and it's "just one set price, €199, for your Opel service".

So, I pop down the garage and ask them to service my car.

I'm assuming this doesn't cover parts? What happens if I need parts or repairs? Do they do them and bill me after or ring me for each part?

Are things like oil changes, new brake pads, new air filters, car valet, etc included as standard?

You would get oil and filter and a check list completed going through many items on the car. Any additional parts would be extra. I find some garages would fit minor items without asking you as they wouldnt be a shock but would ring you if anything major needed doing or a few minor things needed doing which together might add up to alot

To be honest though, with a 99 corsa I would get an independent garage to do your servicing as they will be cheaper and less likely to rip you off with crazy prices for wiper blades etc

    hey,
a service is fairly simple, its basically a diy job. you just get an oil change, new airfilter, possibly new pads, topped up windscreen washer, and if its bmw 2 extra ****ing cartons of it in the glove box. Infact if its bmw, you'l also get a bill for something well over 1000euro that they found on the car somewhere and just had to do it with out asking. Mr J D I Speak of you. But in blanch, just bring it to Advanced, they have a 35 point service check that is fairly good.
