I've been looking at diamonds for a while but today I was shown a Hearts and Arrows Cut for the first time. I think for the first time in my life I (semi) understood why women get so excited about diamonds!

The sparkle off the stone was far superior than anything I'd seen before.
Have any of you viewed a Hearts and Arrows before?

The H&A cut is fantastic. Did you get to view the stone through the viewer? Viewed from one side you see the arrows and from the other you see the hearts.
I think they are called 'super ideal' cuts.
I've seen them in Australia and the US not so sure how common they are here?

I had my engagement designed for me by these guys and they are great. The diamonds are wonderful, they really sparkle. They are hearts and arrows cut. He went through the whole process with us so I ended up with a one off custom made ring. I love it!

Where are these guys based (that is www.precious.ie) did you get appropriate certificate and was it as expensive as main stream stores?

I don't think they are all H&A, but maybe some of them are.

Hi! Is this a tradition type jewlers or a design based workshop. I looked up the site and its not totally constructed. Is it more expensive to design you own than buying off the shelf?

They are based at 16 College Green, Dublin. You'll have to ring to arrange an appointment. They're design based with a workshop where the jewelry is made. The ring is fully certified. I don't know how much it was compared to a shop. I wasn't the one paying for the ring ;)
