I passed the bike theory test and now I want to apply for the A provisional. Do I need to get an eye test and passport photos to apply for the A provisional even though I have a full car licence?

Yup. They are totally different licenses altogether.

You won't need an eye test but will need the passport photos. I applied for and got my bike provisional back in Nov 2007, I even called them beforehand to see if I needed an eye test and they said no.

When I applied for my A provisional in 2006 (while holding a full B licence) I did have to provide an eyesight test report!

no you dont, when your filling in your form for a new provisional licence there is a small section to fill out details of any existing licences in your name. i done this last year. i have a full B licence which expires in 2010 and is registered in my mams house, but last year i got my provisional A and had it registered in my on house.

i just had to fill in the details of my existing licence, ie seriel number. might be no harm to stick a copy of it in the post with your bike provisional application.

this year, i just passed my bike test so i sent back my old licence and got the bike and car on one.

You don't need to get another eye test done, i recently did this and just showed them my full B licence and they just took a copy of it.

I was lucky as well as i did not have to pay as i still had a few months left on my previous prov licence.........:D
