I think i might be ready to crack. I been suffering severe bouts of anxiety for no reason forthe last two week. Twice in the two weeks I gone to the bank and emptyied my current account and deposit account. With the intention of using that money to disapper. Just go to the airport or harbour and without telling anyone getting as far and as quickly away as possible.

I dont want anyone to know were I am, were Im going and I dont want to com back

some friends of mine deal with children with special needs. Theve told me on a numbber of occasion that suspect I have ADHD. Is this just the effect of the anxiety and my impulsiveness or is there more to it

Today Ive taken a valum and xanax just to operate and be able to deal with people. Now that they had little or no effect Ive done weights and gone for two. Three mile runs. Im still jumoed up.

Can a docter precribe me ritolin or am I going to need to speak with a pstcatrisy. I dont know what Im likley to do. The first time I left the bank I got as far the door of the bank before reconsidering, the second time to my car.

I just want to dissaper. Does anyone else feel like this. Should I act in it

unfortunatly ritalin is only prescribed to children and maybe teenagers. there is however other ADHD medication that they can prescribe that is more suited to adults. if you PM me i can send you the contact details for a pyciatrist that deals with ADHD in adults and children. he was the first in ireland to specialise in the subject many years ago, long before most people knew what it even was. so he is very knowledgeable in the area. i think he has written some books on it. he got me to help in some studies years ago in ttrinity colege and they were very informative. you can make an appointment with him and he usually sees people quite qucikly. he will diagnose you and then go through the options of treatment. ther eis medication but there are also other ways of treating it, so its worth really looking into the various options. but he is a very good pyciatrist.

let me know if you want his contact details and i can dig them out.

Think how all your family and friends would feel if you just disappeared, they'd be absolutely devastated. Please go and see a professional as soon as possible. They are qualified to deal with you professionally, there is help out there so instead of going to the bank again tomorrow, make an appointment with your local GP and ask for a referral. Continue with the valium also until you get the proper treatment. Good luck.

Why don't you just try and pull a Gandalf or a Forest Gump for the weekend? Disappear to some random corner of the country for the weekend and just get away from all your worries (jog there!). The country isnt big by any means but its big enough to put some distance between you and the crap. You may find some clarity in it; and when you've sorted yourself a little bit, come back, and don't say a word - you don't have to explain yourself to anyone if you dont want to.

    Brilliant advice.

Get lost for a weekend, go to the opposite end of the country, any way you want at any time you want. Climb a mountain if you want. Enjoy yourself, and forget the stress. You'll be so much more able to deal with things then.

Don't try and dissappear. If you do, the chances are, it'll work, but that you'll start getting homesick. If you feel you have ADHD, go see the pro, it's not a condition to be ashamed of, and if you get it treated(or at least diagnosed now), it'll help you greatly...

Just so you know, I have ADHD and this is not what happens when you have ADHD, not even close!

    No 'hell yeah from here.

The OP is having anxiety attacks that have no reason.

Clinical depression maybe which is very easily treated by a GP.

maybe if you think deeply about whats causing the feeling and deal with it that way or write out your thoughts or go to someone you can confide in
It just might be fear , If you face it it should disolve
also music or reading creative thought in a book or watching a relaxing film taking a cold shower or a bath
running away might just cause more problems
also you might just be on a technology buzz I get sometimes too fro being hooked up to electronic/digital devices for too long
    take it easy
yoga might help also to ground your energy

n e thing that takes your mind off your cares/worries should help also
usually If you just take the bull by the horns and deal with whatevers goin on in whatever way makes sense to you should help
If you take extreme reaction you might regret it

Have to agree, this does not sound like ADHD. It sounds like classic depression where you just want to get away from it, and start a new life somewhere else.

Are you type of person who always seems to have a solution in order to fix things? But these solutions don't work anymore. The best thing you can do is if you have some good friend or partner, tell them everything, tell them how you feel and why you feel you need to get it away from it. Try and arrange to see a physcarist or a family doctor and for support i would take a friend with you.

Getting away from it all, is not a good idea if you really want to just disappear. Because even though you think you are relaxing you are taking that one step further to where your mind thinks you should be.

As for taking valium, it can help but if you are constantly having to reach for them that is never good.

Oh no: by all means you need to come back. But it might not be a bad thing to head away for a couple days.

And in hindsight a few disapearring persons threads in the past at the very least let someone know you wont be available for a few days. It stops them from worrying sick or calling the gards or something ;)

If its really an anxiety attack: talk to someone. If its a feeling youve been having for a while, I would try a couple days.

OP, go to the doctor as soon as you can.

When explaining yourself, pull no punches. Tell him / her exactly what is going on with you, as it is the only way they will know what treatment is best. Im thinking no to ADHD. Some kind of depression maybe. Depression / anxiety are linked.

Have you been this way long? Periods of happines then sadness then all over the shopness could indicate bipolar too from what ive heard.

I love the idea of going out to the country as previously suggested, I look for somewhere secluded when my head is full of it. But I think there is something else happening here. Either way, you cant afford to over look it. Go to the doctor to be on the safe side.

I don't think that you can say OP doesn't have ADHD because you have never met them. Just from saying he/she has impulsiveness and seems a tad dyslexic it's a big chance that he had it. Especially if friends are saying it too.

But I would say that the feelings you have aren't signs of ADHD. Seems you have depression. Maybe it's because you have (suspected) ADHD and can't relate to people and it's snowballed into a bigger problem and you're given yourself anxiety attacks

Talk to a psychologist and try to get a diagnosis. Don't run away because you can't escape yourself or your problems.

Try this: go to some random bus station and ask the person there to pick a number between 1 and whatever number of bus stops. Whichever one they say get a return ticket to wherever that is going (preferably the last stop). Go there for the weekend. Tell your family you're going somewhere just to cool off.

You can't run away from your problems, but you can have a cooling off time. Then consult your doctor.
