a colleague is a hiker, and was asking me for recommendations on a camera he could take hiking, which would be able to put up with a certain amount of abuse, but also have a decent lens. anyone know of any models he could try out?

there was an ad of a camera a kid used to take a picture of his dog and then after falling in mud he rinsed it under a tap before returning it to his mother
can't remember what camera it was, but probably that olympus there

Sebzy had one in the pub last week.

He threw it off the ground a few times, before we starting making videos from inside our full pint glasses...
