Lithium and bad reactions

Hi, bit more advice please. My partner started taking lithium at the weekend.

He was complaining of feeling a bit queasy in the afternoons for the last few days but yesterday he started feeling really sick.

Last night he decided not to take the lithium as he thought thats what was making him sick.

Two issues- one, i cant see anything on the net about lithium having this sort of side affects and i cant see anything about what effect stopping taking meds will have.

Secondly, and i suppose more worryingly for me. I got really cross with him about stopping taking it without consulting a doctor. I know that if he was feeling bad then he was probably right to stop taking it but im just scared that this is another avoiding tactic. It just too so long to get a diagnosis for him and to get meds perscribed and then it took so long for him to agree to take them that if this doest work then i think i might crack up.

He says he is not avoiding lithium and that if he is allergic to it then he will take something like it, but i dont know if there is anything like it on the market?

Id be grateful for any advice...

This is not a medical forum and we cannot advise you on this.

Get him back to his GP asap.
