GTA4 Online Problem

Not sure if anyone else is having this problem. Cant connect to the online for GTA. Keep getting an error saying "Cannot Connect to Server, Try again Later"

Tried it loads and no joy. Anyone else experience this problem?

not tried it online yet tbh, just been messing with the single player stuff.

want to get more used to the controls so I don't get my a$$ handed to me by some 10 year old kid.

assumng you have a router that allows it, try putting your PS3 in the DMZ so it's wide open to the net as if it's directly connected.

if that works then it's just likely to be port related and you can start googling for what ports are used by GTA and then make sure they're all open.

I was having problems with NFS before and I changed some settings so maybe I will try checking the NAT settings.

yeah i was getting the same when i tried last night. i assume it's just teething problems and the servers crashed or something?

hhmm. i was on their web page there and its not very descriptive, doesnt tell what ports to use.

will give it another go and see what happens anyway

Yes, i was having the same issue, "please try again later" I presume it was just real busy.

Yeah online is down for the PS3 version at the minute.

My brother was able to play it yesterday though! maybe it is the servers and he just got lucky that they were online at that time.

Just tried it there and was able to play a game online, so it seems to be back up. Probably just due to traffic, because I played a bit yesterday too, but couldn't connect last night.

well thats good news. at least i'm not the only one that it wasnt working for and it seems to be fixed now.

anytime i try connect so far i just got the please try again later message. can anyone confirm if this is a server problem or my connection? i have nat1 wireless and all other games work so i assume it's the server but maybe i'm wrong?

Its strugging to detect that you are signed in on the PSN network. There are network stats in the options menu that say this when play is unavailable.

Not good. Crashes and network problems, both on each console. At least they kept it fair.

worked ok tonight when i tried it. seemed to run ok too. played one deathmatch. bit rubbish to be honest but i'd say some of the other games might be good for when the single player is done.

connected to the server for me last night but couldnt get into a game which was just as well coz id never have gotten up this morning if i did

the ports that need to be opened are udp 6672 udp 28900, tcp 8001 tcp 27900 should be ok then

Why do u need to be so competitive, just play it for the enjoment of it, i hate that sh1t.

I know i should know this cz every1 else seems to but im using a netopia 3347nwg, how do i go about opening those ports. im on a playstation.
