For those who do not know, Microsoft have today released Service Pack 3 for Windows XP. You should find it appear in Windows Update in the next couple of hours.

Service Pack 3 contains some new functionality that not a lot of people will need to concern themselves with, but it also contains all the core Windows updates released since XP 2. If you have been having problems getting all the updates onto your machine, this is the best way to do it.

Check Windows Update or the Microsoft Download Website for the file.

Or, apparently, not. It seems Microsoft are after delaying the launch of XP SP 3 after finding a glitch that causes an incompatibility with another Microsoft application.

The information in the IE Blog is particularly important for users of IE7 and beta testers of IE8.
