most concrete slab manufacturers do stairs.....

you may also consider pouring one in-situ??

If you are looking for concrete stairs its fair to assume that you are using concrete slabs so as sydthebeat said you should be able to get them through that source. Depending on the company involved you may be able to do a wee bit of wheeling and dealing if you are buying both slabs and stairs.

I am using concrete slabls for upstairs, same company will supply me with precast stairs, before I commit and agree price I would just like to see if anybody knows anybody that can offer something different, like curved steps, etc.
PS: I am located in Co Clare

try whelans precast in ennis, mcgraths in o' callaghans mills and oran precast in oranmore.

in situ may be a cheaper option also if u have good chippies and someone to finish the concrete well.

usually stairs covered with timber threads anyway....

Sorry to drag up this thread but it seemed a good idea instead of starting a new one:

Can any of you direct me to info about finishing a concrete stairs with timber railings and banister etc? Or are metal railings a better idea?

    Thanks,

    Steve

We are just about to pick the "Fusion Handrail system" for our concrete stairs and this is a blend of wood/steel. The maufactuer of that system also has timber only products that work with concrete stairs.

How are you finishing the treadplates just out of interest?

Probably timber threadplates I think, with a strip of carpet up the middle.

My main question I need to find an answer to is how the railings can be fixed to the concrete stair threads.

Where are you sourcing that handrail system from in Ireland ?

You were warned on thread a couple of days ago about digging up old threads. If this happens again your account will be banned from this forum.
