Not quite sure what you mean!! but I dont think you would receive an email, telling you someone is looking for you!! If it doesnt look like its come from Ebay, then its not real! I am sorry, but dont really understand what you are saying, and can only tell you this..

You cannot enter an email address in the User Id!! only they Ebay users ID name!! is this what you mean??????

Just added that you can only put in the Ebay User Id in that column, not an email address!! did you get that.

Hi, I have just put in my Email into that column,, and it did find me! and gave me my User ID. so does this answer your question??? but the person would need to know your email address to do this in the first place... hope this helps..:p

If you put in the email address of someone whom you havent been involved in a transaction with you will get this message:

The email address ???@??.com is used by a valid eBay member with a feedback score of 50 (100% positive). We have not found a transaction between you and this member in the last 60 days. For privacy reasons, it's eBay's policy that User IDs are not revealed to members who are not involved in current or recent transactions with each other.

If you are involved in a transaction or you enter your own email address it just gives you the username, and doesnt send an email.



But if you wanted to get the contact info (address, phone no.) of someone who is bidding on your stuff or bought something from you, use this link:

In this case the other person will be sent an email informing them that you requested and received their contact info.

If you are just searching for a member, it won't send you a message. I am always spying on my mate's ebay page to see what he has been buying and he never knows anything about it until I make fun of him (because for some reason he has been buying loads of pink wool.)
