Im trying to get an electronic ignition setup for my 1983 chevette 1256cc, it has a bosch distributor, does anyone know what type this would be?
Or does anyone know a company that does electronic ignition for these engines, they are the same engine as the HC viva, though the dizzy might be different im not sure.
    Thanks.:)

http://www.hot-spark.com/ Do a cheap Bosch EE if you can work out if it'll fit your dizzy.

Or other than that a Pertronix Ignitor from http://www.vintageperformance.com/retrorockets/ (you pay in dollars, but shipped from England so no customs nonsense) if they do one.

I can't see it being too much of a problem if it's a Bosch unit, but if you can identify it further it'll help.

Aldon Ignitors are just Pertronix Ignitor units re-labelled and the price doubled. Lumenition is in the silly expensive league. They do Magnetronic (similar in principle to Ignitor, but on a different axis) and the optical pick-up units.

(If anyone has a Lucas 45D4, you could try a Britpart cheapy for Land Rovers - Less than a tenner STG).
