Right half an hour to go,bit early yet,but thought it'd be interesting to see how many peoeple on boards have the game!

half way through installing it, got it at bout 5 past 12 in hmv grafton st,queued for about 1hr 20 mins. just in the door now, cant wait

I only had 4 people in front of me,and the only reason that was cause two were trading in games and one was picking up a 360! No real big queue at all!

no queues at tesco mahon point in cork, I just walked in at 12:05 and walked out 5 mins later.

Just home now took me 45 mins to get it [snipped], im so shocked. The que was outside the door. Mostly adults but there was a few silly parents there with children. whats wrong with these parents

Picked mine up at the HMV Grafton Street launch. Was toward the middle of the queue, got in at around twenty past. Seemed to have a ton more in there.

Was a good laugh, a lot of drunken people and gardaí on bikes were hypnotised by the scene.

Now, to play this game for the next 57 hours...

The Tesco manager in Maynooth was turning away people and spouting some spurious yet inspired nonsense about a goverment sales embargo and potential imprisonment for himself. Then he insulted me for challenging him by deriding gamers everywhere...

So when i came back later and he had cooled down/sobered up a bit he showed me a letter from Tesco HQ that said something along the lines of : "With regards to the previous notice of 11:30am copies of GTA IV are not to be sold until after the embargo of 2:01am. Checkout systems will be monitored and any breaches of this embargo will be dealt with."

Typo... mad manager on a power trip... maybe even actual Tesco HQ policy i don't know. I got the last bus out of there GTA'less and will go elsewhere tomorrow.

When confronted by me and a half dozen other who had phoned and headed their specifically i think he actually got more confrontational and less apologetic... very odd customer service.

In tesco cork mahon point. apparently they had bout 60 something copies dno if it was ps3 and xbox or combined. Also apparently price was dropping at 2am!! they queue only had bout 20 people and was gone about 2 mins after 12!

Having the same prob as with Assassains Creed though now,can't hear the voices during cut scenes only the music,but can hear it during normal game play:(

Anyone care to help?! I'm using a HDMI cable,and the settings are right for it AFAIK!

What audio options does the game have? Are you just running the TV speakers via the HDMI cable?

oh my good god my xbox just gave me the red rings

If the game is set to surround sound or 5.1 then the voices will go down the 'center' channel, your tv may not play this through the stereo speakers, try setting the sound to stereo in game, or your TVs audio menu may have options for surround or the center channel

Was thinking along those lines too. Center channel missing if set to 5.1 etc.

Just back from Clarehall to pick up my pre-order in Gamestop. The Ques were unreal, alot of people had the same idea. Not too sure on stock levels, but I heard them ask repeatedly to the que, 'do you have your deposits'. People who said no we're told there was no chance of getting a copy because they only had enough for pre-orders.

Had a wander into Tescos for some monch, and there was no sign of copies there, don't think they are selling them till the morning by the looks of things.

Anyways, the install is nearly ready. See y'all in LC!

Woohoo just arrived home with my copy of GTA! I went to Tesco in Tallaght but they didn't have any so i decided to join a rather large queue in Game in The Square. I waited for about 40 mins but when I got to the counter I was asked for my Game card and then told that they were only open for pre-orders...

I must have looked pretty degected because the guy behind the counter took pity on me and said it was cool! he even gave me 500 Xbox Live points. So big thank you to that dude from Game in Tallaght if he ever reads this!!

Just got mine in Dundrum. Was queing with a few other lads in Tesco waiting for the 2am debacle, when we all headed over to Game and they were sellin loads off the shelf, great!
