Taking my girlfriend to Kilkenny in a few weekends time.

Have heard lots of nice things about the place. We will be going early Saturday, spending Sat night and coming back (to Dublin) Sunday night.

Anything in particular people advise is a must whilst there? Im from England so have never been before, just heard that its a nice place to visit whilst in Ireland. (im here for a year).

Any info is welcome, places to see, places to eat, activities, etc...

    Thanks in advance.

    Kind Regards

    Tom

the castle is an interesting tour , and canice's cathederal is good for history , it has a round tower where you can climb to the top and see all around . they are at opposite end s of the city centre .

there's a few golf courses in the county and horse riding on the edge of the city .:)

dunmore caves is definitely worth a visit
    also jerpoint abbey

maybe drive to discovery park in castlecomer on sunday, the lunches there are very nice and can look at some of the crafts/ jewellery etc there

in town the design centre lunch is good too, and can again wander around the centre or the design craft rooms attached

jenkinstown woods is great too - bluebells just coming out (could combine this with visit to the caves )
