    Hey folks,

Just wondering what sort of paint is the best to use on plastic?
Has it to be primed? Where to buy.

    Any information will help!

    Thanks

    There's two main options -
    Best Option
    Most Practical Option

what's best is 2 component acrylic/polyurethane, isocyanate cured, not easily available, costs about between 15 to 100 per litre (usually have to buy 5 litres) and needs specialist equipment to apply (compressed air spray-gun, extraction and organic-vapour or air-fed respirator).
Hardener is a suspected carcinogen (causes cancer).
Usually designed to go directly over most plastics (ABS and PC or ABS/PC blends are what's mostly used) but some plastics (such as nylons) may need special primers.

    Most practical option is Krylon.
Basically a one component acrylic air drying paint. Comes in aerosol so no equipment needed, no mixing, cheap and works well on most substrates.
Available from M.I.A. in Blanchardstown in a range of about 5 colours.

Costs about €12 per can and is by far the easiest option.

    hope this helps:)

Krylon isnt being made anymore Ive heard.
For the last year or so I keep hearing shops making statements
like we got the last of the stock etc etc but it has yet to disappear
of the face of the market.

You could also try Gameswork shop Primer before you spray with something else.
Not sure how Long term it would be though as I have seen it flake if the coat is
too think (but not on AEG's)
