    Hi,

Thinking of getting SKY HD in - I currently have SKY + and will be leaving that were it is.

Does anyone know current price and any special offers which may be going around?

Also, speaking to an electrician over the weekend he tells me that some of the sky engineers are refusing to drill holes into walls to bring cable in???? Surely this cant be true?

    Thanks,

    BC

I called Sky a week or so ago. They've no special offers and they have none planned. Just the introduce a friend effort for €50/70.

Im currently paying €55 a month but was thinking about subscribing to HD (I already have a HD Box) but I am unwilling to part with another €15 a month on top of my own subscription and Setanta's €20. i was wondering would there be any point in ringing Sky up and looking for a discount on my original €55 subscription (threaten to cancel etc., I got 20% off for 12 months doing this before) and then if they give me a discount ring back later and stick the HD sub onto it

I was thinking of doing a similar thing - ring up to order HD but cancel Movies and Sports given the increase for HD as a reason. Don’t know if you could get anything off doing that???

Well its basically Sky Sports HD I want, i think if you could get thru to irish call centre perhaps you would have a better chance of haggling maybe??

Try it. I did and got nothing though.

The more people that ring looking for an offer the better. They may realize, if up-take is low yet they're getting calls about offers that it might be worthwhile introducing some. Let us know how ye get on.

Called them two weeks ago and pretended to be as dumb as a spanner. Said that NTL were going to give me a box where I could record TV - wow - what a concept. She said they do the same as well and its better - cue more wows. So this cork girl offers me sky+ box +installation for 69. Thought it was pretty good. Was going to say but NTL is free can you match that. If you had some chutzpah you could get it for free.

Have been a subscriber to Sky for years - always had the full package - rang them late last year and wanted to get HD - there was no reduction in the fees but as a long term (was going to put suffering in here) subscriber I got a reduced price of €299 for the new HD box plus free installation - which was a bit of a cod because the engineer arrived and all he had to do was plug in box, connect cable and set up the subscription.

I then moved the old Sky+ box into the attic in place of my original box and have muti-room with Sky+!

    Sweet!
