internal hard drive

    I have an old computer thats busted but i want to get pictures off the internal hard drive belonging to it. it has windows xp on it. I bought a computer with windows vista on it. is there any way to hook up the other hard drive up to it to get the files of it. thanks in advance for your help.

    The 2 cables thats connecting your dvd-rw drive plug them out of it and into the hard drive .(assuming it's an ide dvd-rw)
    Reboot and put the files onto the vista hard drive.

    im wondering will the operating system on the hard drive from the old pc prevent me getting the pictures of it.

    It depends where there stored.

    The vista m/c will assign a different drive letter to your drive. Just pull your data from there.
