I always used to hear Dorset St being pronounced Dorset (or dahrseh), up until around a year ago. Now everyone seems to be calling it Dorsette St. Which is it?

Locals pronounce it as "Dore-sit" St.

Fordenders pronounce it as "Door-Set" St. They are wrong.

And D'olier street, though in fairness, it isn't very obvious how it's pronounced.

I always called that Doll-ier and only learned the more popular way here.

Its the "East Bay Area"

Westmoreland Street was pronounced back in the day as Westm'land Street. One Irish Times (offices on Fleet Street / D'Olier Street) journalist didn't know where to go when sent to West-more-land Street.

I've seen Westland Row marked as Westmoreland Row on an old map and suspect the name evolved.
